This online browser program converts a JPEG signature to a PNG signature. The key feature of a PNG signature is its transparent background. Unlike the JPEG format, which is always opaque, the PNG format supports an alpha channel, which allows pixels to have transparency. A signature with a transparent background is called a digital signature as you can use it in PDF documents, Word documents, and services that require you to upload your signature. By default, this program detects and removes the white background and related paper-gray tones. If you have a background in a different color, then just click on the background in the input screen and the program will remove exactly this color. You can also expand the number of similar pixels that will be removed via the "Color Threshold" option and smooth the pixels around the signature edges via the "Signature Edge Smoothing" option. The smoothing is controlled by the pixel radius, which can be 1px, 2px, 3px, and so on. To see a high-contrast version of your digital signature, enable the "Preview Transparent Signature" option. You can download the final PNG signature via the Save-as button that is located below the output area. Png-abulous!

In this example, we create Marilyn Monroe's digital signature. We upload a JPG photo of her signature and remove the paper background from it. As the photo has very high quality, we have to match just 8% of other paper colors (such as light gray).
